The undefeated Sixers head south to Hobart to take on the Hurricanes in the first match of the Big Bash New Year’s Day double-header.
Head to Head
It’s tough to bet against an undefeated team but there is a good case to be made for the ‘Canes.
The underdog has dominated this contest lately, winning eight of the last nine games between the these teams. The Hurricanes have also won seven of their last ten at Bellerive as outsiders.
Chasing has been a huge advantage in BBL 14, with teams batting second winning 11 of 15 at time of publish. The Sixers have won the toss and chased in all four of their games, so surely (surely!), they are due some bad luck there.
Sean Abbott is again expected to be unavailable for the Sixers as he remains on national duty, while the Hurricanes should be at full strength.
Hobart have already rolled a BBL giant in the Scorchers at home this season and they are capable of pulling off another upset here.
Best Bet
Henriques is perhaps the BBL’s most consistent performer, scoring 25+ in five of his last seven knocks. He also loves playing against the Hurricanes, scoring 20+ in five of his last six against the purple team.
Value Bet
After a first match globe, McDermott has had a 5* and a 67* in his last two knocks, and has hit 50 in three of his last six at Bellerive.
