The Strikers are desperate for a home win to stay in the hunt for the top four, but they face a tough task in the Sydney Sixers.
Head to Head
The Sixers have been a much more consistent team in BBL 14 and they should get the win here.
The visitors boast a stellar record against the Strikers, winning 10 of the last 12 encounters, including three of the most recent four.
The key factor in this game is Steve Smith. The former Australian captain has an unrivalled record at this level in recent years (see below). Meanwhile, the Strikers will be without their leading run-scorer, Chris Lynn, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Both teams’ have copped some stick this season. The Strikers have conceded three of the top ten scores in BBL 14, while the Sixers have conceded two. On the country’s best batting deck, we could be in for some massive totals.
Back the visitors to get the job done.
Best Bet
This is as big as a runs line gets but it’s completely justified for Short, who just loves batting at the Adelaide Oval, scoring 25+ in six of his last seven knocks at home. He’s also coming off innings of 52 and 109, both at this venue.
Value Bet
It’s not quite the $26 we got for Smithy’s ton on Sunday but we’ll be backing him again tonight given his record at this level. In his last eight BBL matches, Smith has scored three tons, two fifties and just one score below 18. As mentioned, he’ll be on the country’s best batting deck tonight facing a very thin Strikers bowling line-up. Get on.
