The Strikers are in need of a home win to keep pace with the top four but it will be tough coming up against the Perth Scorchers.
Head to Head
The Strikers are too good to go 1-4 in BBL 14 and the numbers suggest they can cause the upset here.
The home side have a fantastic record as home underdogs, winning 20 of 25. The outsiders have also won seven of nine between these teams at this venue and the Scorchers have, by their standard, a really ordinary return of four wins from 12 games here.
The Adelaide Oval is typically the country’s best batting track, which will nullify the Scorchers’ bowling advantage. The Strikers probably have the stronger top six, with the visitors missing Josh Inglis and star recruit Finn Allen really struggling, contributing just 10 runs in four innings.
Both teams will receive a boost to their playing stocks with Jake Weatherald back for the Strikers and Jhye Richardson released from the Australian Test squad to play for the Scorchers.
Keep in mind that chasing remains an advantage in BBL 14, with 11 of 16 teams batting second winning so far this season, but the Strikers look a good bet here.
Best Bet
Few players own a record at a single venue better than Matt Short’s at the Adelaide Oval. He’s scored 25+ in five of his last six home games with 50s in four of those knocks. Worth a bet for the half century and player of the match, especially if the Strikers chase.
Value Bet
Lynn loves playing the Scorchers, averaging a sensational 45 from 20 matches against them. He’s also scored 50+ in four of eight at the Adelaide Oval. Also worth a bet for player of the match if the Strikers chase.
