The second of Saturday’s two BBL clashes sees the struggling Strikers host the defending champions, the Brisbane Heat.
Head to Head
The 2-4 Strikers have been the major disappointment of BBL 14 and they’re hard to fancy here, even at home.
The Strikers have sorely missed Rashid Khan this season, with their bowling attack being taken apart regularly. Overton, Boyce, Short, Thornton, and Pope are all conceding more than eight runs per over, and Brendan Doggett is their only bowler ranked in the top 30 for economy rate. They’ve also allowed three of the seven highest totals in BBL 14 so far.
They will get a boost in the form of Alex Carey, who returns for his first appearance this season, but captain Matt Short is expected to miss again. Paul Walter remains out for the visitors.
The Heat haven’t quite been as dominant as last season, but with Michael Neser back to complete their formidable pace trio, they look ready to make a strong push to defend their title.
Underdogs have won all nine matches between these teams at Adelaide Oval, and the Heat look well-placed to make that ten.
Best Bet
We’re getting a nice line here for a player with an outstanding road record. Bryant has scored 25+ in five straight away from the Sunshine State and in his last two at the Adelaide Oval.
Value Bet
We hit on this bet in the Heat’s last game so we’ll go back to the well with Johnson, who has taken 3+ wickets in four of his last six BBL matches.
Same Game Multi
Heat H2H / Bryant & Lynn 10+ Runs / Johnson & Neser 1+ Wickets
