BBL 12 Tips – Sydney Sixers v Melbourne Stars

Marcus Stoinis

The Sixers are rightfully short-priced favourites at home against the Stars on Boxing Day.

Best Bet

Sydney Sixers
Head-to-Head

This is one of the BBL’s most one-sided rivalries so the home team have to be the play here.

The Sixers have won seven straight against the Stars. While there have been some close contests in there, there have also been some absolute hammerings, including twice where the men in pink have knocked over the Stars for less than 100.

The 1-2 Sixers have had a brutal start to BBL 12, playing arguably the three best teams in the Strikers, Scorchers and Hurricanes. This is a step down in class.

Unless Stoinis or Clarke fire with the willow, there doesn’t look to be enough runs in the Stars’ batting order despite their solid bowling roster.

The Sixers have won 11 of 12 at the SCG and should be comfortable winners on Boxing Day.

Next Best

Josh Philippe
Over 22.5 runs

Philippe loves playing at home and against the Stars. He’s scored 20+ runs in 6 of his last 7 at home and in 5 of his last 6 against the Stars, including two 50s in his last two knocks against David Hussey’s team.

Looks a great same game multi anchor and value for top run scorer and player of the match.

Value Bet

Joe Clarke
Top Stars Batter

Clarke is the most consistent batter in a team of inconsistent batters.

The Englishman has top scored for the Stars in 6 of their last 12 games and has scored 30+ runs in 3 of their last 5.

With Stoinis scoring just 4 runs in three innings, Clarke is a strong pick in this market.
