The Stars travel to Perth on Thursday for the late game against the Scorchers.
Best Bet
The Scorchers are almost unbeatable at home and should win this game but they’re certainly short enough.
The reigning champions have won 16 of their last 17 at Optus Stadium, 14 straight as home favourites and five straight overall.
They’ve also won 3 of 4 this season, including a dominant win over the Stars last week, where they smashed 229 off their 20 overs.
The Stars have been their typical inconsistent selves this season. Outside of Joe Clarke with the bat and Luke Wood with the ball, the rest of the line-up has been very mediocre. They will need a big effort from the returning Marcus Stoinis if they are to be any chance here.
The Scorchers should run out winners but with Clarke and Stoinis capable of match-winning performances, don’t be steaming in at the short price.
Next Best
Webster has been the most reliable Stars batter this season, coming off scores of 78, 43 and 24 following just 4 in his first dig of BBL 12. He’s scored 40+ in his last two against the Scorchers and 50+ in 2 of his last 3 games at Optus.
Value Bet
Inglis has had a terrific start to BBL 12, scoring two half-centuries including one against the Stars. He was player of the match in that performance – the second time he’s won the award from his last six games. In a likely Scorchers win and with a very even bowling attack, Inglis is a great bet.
