The Renegades and Sixers meet for the second time in two days on Friday, this time in Geelong.
Best Bet
Again we have a short turnaround for a rematch between two teams and again we’re with the previous winner, the Sixers.
While it was at the SCG, the Sixers were far too good for the Renegades on Wednesday night. Their total of 149 looked a few short after losing 8 wickets, but the ‘Gades were never in the hunt chasing, being knocked over for a paltry 115.
The Renegades batting looks good on paper but just isn’t clicking yet. Martin Guptill, Shaun Marsh and Peter Handscomb will be better for the run, but the form of Jono Wells is a big concern.
There’s just more confidence in the Sixers at this point, and coming off six straight wins over David Saker’s team and three straight wins overall, they should prove too good again.
Next Best
This is a great bet despite our prior prediction. The Renegades are full of power hitters and the Sixers aren’t. The red team are ranked second for sixes with 28 for the season while the boys in pink are last with just 14. The ‘Gades won this market 3-2 on Wednesday night despite their ordinary performance with the bat. Josh Philippe scored the only two sixes for the home team.
Value Bet
Philippe just owns the Renegades. The opener has scored a 50 in 3 of his last 5 against this opponent, including a 55 from 40 balls in Wednesday night’s game. Has hit 25+ in 3 of his 5 innings this season.
