BBL 12 Tips – Melbourne Renegades v Perth Scorchers

Aaron Finch

The Scorchers have a brilliant record in Victoria and will be too much for a stuttering Renegades outfit.

Best Bet

Perth Scorchers
Head-to-Head

The Scorchers are again the team to beat in the BBL and should breeze past the Renegades at Marvel Stadium.

Perth are sitting pretty on top of the table despite playing the equal fewest games so far. They have a brilliant record at this venue, having won their last 7 and 11 of 12 overall.

After a bright start to the year, the awful Renegades of old are re-emerging. They’ve lost three straight and their last two quite convincingly. Curiously this has come since they injected some serious talent and experience into the team in Shaun Marsh, Martin Guptill and Pete Handscomb. As a unit they continue to be too unreliable to back, even at the juicy price we get here.

The Scorchers just don’t play bad games and should chalk up a comfortable victory to start 2023.

Next Best

Under 19.5 Runs
Renegades Opening Partnership

After two good performances to start the season, Nic Maddinson has fallen in a hole, scoring just 3 runs from his last 4 innings at the top of the order. His partner Martin Guptill is yet to fire either, scoring 0 and 12 from his two digs.

The ‘Gades continue to get off to putrid starts, having lost a wicket for less than 5 runs in each of their last 5 games.

This looks a very safe bet.

Value Bet

Aaron Finch
Top Renegades Batter

Finchy plays brilliantly at Marvel, averaging 43 here across 38 innings. He has made a half-century in each of his last two games at this venue, including a 70* in the Renegades only appearance here this season.
