BBL 12 Tips – Melbourne Renegades v Brisbane Heat

Aaron Finch

The Heat are chasing their first win of the season when they face the Renegades in Geelong on Tuesday night.

Best Bet

Brisbane Heat
Head-to-Head

Brisbane are the value here.

The Renegades may be 2-0 but both wins have been very scratchy. The Thunder have been the worst team in the BBL this season so a final ball victory over them is hardly cause for too much optimism, while their win over the Heat was mostly due to captain Nic Maddinson’s 87 with the rest of the batting struggling. The form doesn’t justify such a short price for the home team.

The Heat have only had one match this year, against the Renegades as mentioned, going down by 20 runs. The key difference for this match is the return of experienced duo Matt Renshaw and Michael Neser, the former in scintillating form in domestic cricket this season.

Neither of these teams look much good, so at the price the Heat are the bet.

Next Best

Colin Munro
Over 22.5 runs

Munro scored 35 in their opening match and he should continue his bright start to the season against a team he loves playing.

The Kiwi has scored 20+ in each of his last four games against the Renegades and 50+ in two of his last four.

Value Bet

Jake Fraser-McGurk
Top Renegades Batter

This is an absurd price for anyone batting at number three, let alone a promising young player like Fraser-McGurk.

The 20-year-old has scored 20+ in his last two home games and was hitting them well in his 24 against the Thunder last time out.

Finch and Maddinson are both in good form but this price is just wrong.

Same Game Multi
