This should be a ripping contest in Hobart between two of the BBL’s most talented line-ups in the Hurricanes and Strikers.
Best Bet
The Strikers have been a great play as underdogs for some time and that should continue in this clash.
Adelaide have won 7 of their last 8 games as underdogs and 5 of their last 6 as underdogs against the Hurricanes. The Strikers have lost three straight but each of those defeats has been very narrow and they were very unlucky to walk into Marcus Stoinis’ first good innings of the season last time out against the Stars.
The Hurricanes have been a major disappointment so far, siting 2-3 and on the bottom of the table despite a hugely talented squad. Other than Matty Wade, their batting has struggled, while some of their bowling has been savagely attacked – Joel Paris has gone for 10.2 an over through five games and Nathan Ellis just under 10.
The Strikers have shown much more this season and should get back on the winner’s list.
Next Best
Lynn continues to play a more conservative style than what we’re used to from the former Heat slugger, with his BBL|12 strike rate sitting at 121, down from his career number of 147.
He’s yet to go large in any innings, but he has made a start in each, passing 25 runs in 4 of 6 this season as well as 3 of his last 4 on the road. He’s yet to be dismissed for less than 10 runs.
Value Bet
As mentioned, Wade has been the standout batter for the ‘Canes this season, averaging 15 more than his next teammate Tim David. He’s also striking them at over 150, a great sign that he’s seeing them like watermelons. With our confidence in the Strikers, this looks a great double.
