Again we have a quick rematch in the BBL, this time it’s the Hurricanes traveling to Adelaide to meet the Strikers on Thursday night.
Best Bet
The Strikers may have lost four straight but they’re well overdue for a win and they should get it at home against the Hurricanes.
Adelaide have been solid in each of these four games but just haven’t quite had their loaded batting and bowling stocks both firing in the same game. Their bowling lacked some penetration against the Scorchers in Perth while their batting lacked urgency against the Stars in the game prior.
The Hurricanes have been terribly inconsistent for such a talented line-up, alternating wins and losses in BBL 12. Despite their win over the Strikers on Monday, they haven’t shown enough to be favourites on the road.
The Strikers have won 7 of their last 8 at home and 7 of their last 8 as home underdogs. The ‘Canes have lost 8 of their last 10 as away favourites. Back the Strikers to hit back with a win.
Next Best
Perhaps Adelaide’s biggest issue this season has been the form of Rashid Khan. The world’s #2 T20 bowler has taken just six wickets from six innings this tournament. While his economy rate has still been terrific, the Strikers need more wickets from him in his final match of the season.
Thornton still holds the golden cap for most wickets with 16 from 6 innings. On form, he should easily take this match-up.
Value Bet
Keen to stay on the Matt Short train, especially at home, where he’s hit 50s in 3 of his last 4 games. He also bowls some handy spinners, especially early in the innings, so a complete game from the opener shouldn’t be too far away.
