Brownlow Tips – AFL Round 8 Brownlow Predictor

Our best bet remains in double figures after Round 8, while there’s a forgotten star who polled 20+ votes last year currently paying $181!

Brownlow Leaderboard

Best Bet

Caleb Serong (Fre)
Brownlow Medal Winner 2024

Isaac Heeney continues his insane run likely in the mix once again in Sydney’s win over the Giants, but the $4.30 is short.

Incredibly we’re still getting double figures for Caleb Serong. The Dockers midfielder is ranked 1 in the AFL for disposals with 33.3 per game, equal second in clearances and second in contested possessions – he fits the Brownlow algorithm perfectly.

Another strong performance in Fremantle’s Round 8 win over Richmond where he will poll, and off the back of polling 17 votes in the last 9 games of 2023 I have no doubt the momentum will carry over to this year.

Lay

Tom Green (GWS)
Brownlow Medal Winner 2024

Ankle injury early in the clash with the Swans puts Green in some doubt for this weekend’s clash with the Bombers, and if he does play he won’t be at 100%.

Assuming the Giants won’t take any risks with their star midfielder, there’s a chance Green will fall outside the top-five of our leaderboard after Round 9 with six players within striking distance ranked between 6 and 11.

Certainly won’t be going near the $9.50 while he’s under an injury cloud.

Value Bet

Jack Sinclair (StK)
Brownlow Medal Winner 2024

Best on ground performance in St Kilda’s win over North Melbourne, off the back of a move into the midfield.

Ross Lyon pulled the trigger at half time against the Power the week prior, resulting in Sinclair being one of the best players on the ground in their loss, and then in Round 8 he produced 33 disposals and 2 goals which will see him secure 3 votes on Brownlow night.

Polling 21 votes last year, the Saints have a decent five-week block approaching with four very winnable games, so although Sinclair currently sits 24th on our leaderboard on 5 votes, could we see the Saint make a run?
