Brownlow Tips – AFL Round 24 Brownlow Predictor

The main contenders all showed up in Round 24 – so who do we have on top of our leaderboard for the 2024 Brownlow Medal?

Brownlow Leaderboard

Best Bet

Nick Daicos (Coll)
Brownlow Medal Winner 2024

You can lock Nick Daicos in for 3 votes with 40 disposals and 2 goals against the Demons on Friday night, with the Neal-Bullen tag not eventuating and the third-year Magpie running amok.

He’s only marginally ahead of Cripps, who many experts gave the three votes for his performance against St Kilda, but I’m nowhere near as confident on this – the Blues lost, Walsh was huge for Carlton while Hewett and Newman also won a lot of ball.

Don’t be surprised if we see our first tie in over 20 years!

Lay

Caleb Serong (Fre)
Brownlow Medal Winner 2024

Has been my value bet for majority of the season but now sits fourth line of betting next to Marcus Bontempelli – the value has certainly disappeared here.

With Fremantle falling apart the last month of football and dropping out of the finals, Caleb Serong’s Brownlow chances have diminished with it.

We’ve got Serong polling 0.75 votes in the last four weeks, and only a total of 7 votes in Fremantle’s last 11 games after the bye. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Andrew Brayshaw make a late run and even pip Serong for Fremantle’s most team votes, listed a few weeks back at around $16.

Value Bet

Zak Butters (PA)
Brownlow Medal Winner 2024

Similar to last year, Zak Butters has stormed home to finish the season and with the Power recording 16 wins – the second most in the competition, someone simply has to poll.

We have a very spread count for the Power with Butters on 22.5 (finishing sixth), along with Horne-Francis on 19.25, Wines on 15.25 and Rozee 12.75 – but if one or two of these players polls poorly and Butters picks up their spread, he’s really close to top-three calculations and shouldn’t be at this price.
