The case for the Dogs is obvious. They have now won five of their last six and they tore apart the Swans on Sunday at the SCG.
But the fact remains that they have been a poor play as favourites this year, having been upset in four of nine games when the bookies elect. They have failed to cover in three of their last four as favourites.
Expectations in football are a funny thing as the Demons show again and again. When outsiders, they have an incredible record. In the last four years they have caused 11 upsets from sixteen games as betting outsiders.
While the Dees were notorious for playing poorly at Marvel once upon a time, they have won six of seven there this decade. Their only loss came by a mere ten points to the Dogs in 2022.
That was the Dees only loss in the last five against the Dogs, with margins of victory being 45, 50, 26 and 74.
With a nice head start the Dees are a good bet in this one.
