Best Bet
This has all the makings of a shootout.
No team has been involved in higher-scoring games than the Bulldogs this year, with an average total of 194 points. They lead the league for scoring but also have the worst defence among top eight teams, conceding 81 points per game.
The Crows can score too, averaging 95 points a game. Their triple towers will be a major concern for Luke Beveridge, especially after the Dogs gave up five goals to Nick Larkey in the first quarter last week. They’ve also conceded big bags recently to Heeney (5), Lynch (3), Chol (4), Cameron (6) and Neale (5).
The trends all point to the over. Each of the Bulldogs’ last four games, six of their last seven at Marvel and four of the last six against Adelaide have cleared the total. Their last two matches have both topped 200 points.
This one should deliver. Expect fireworks.
Same Game Multi
As discussed above, expect the Crows bigs to hit the scoreboard against the battling Bulldogs tall defenders.
Matt Kennedy has had 20+ in 11 straight home games.
Value Bet
As mentioned above, the Dogs are really struggling to contain tall forwards. Expect one of Fogarty or Thilthorpe to go large. Returns of five or six wouldn’t surprise either.
