West Coast look a good chance to win their first game of their season against an injury-ravaged Richmond at Optus Stadium.
Best Bet
This is a very strange sentence to write but West Coast can absolutely win this game.
The Eagles were excellent against the Swans last week, leading at half time before fading late to fall by 26 points. Expected scoring had the margin at just 13 points and Adam Simpson’s team won both centre clearances and contested possessions.
That’s good form for this game considering Richmond’s brutally long injury list, especially in the midfield with Tim Taranto and Jack Ross joining Jacob Hopper and Dion Prestia on the sidelines. Four of the Tigers’ six top centre bounce attendees in 2024 will not play in this game, not to mention arguably their four best key position players in Tom Lynch, Noah Balta, Dylan Grimes and Josh Gibcus.
Adem Yze’s team have been very competitive considering, but there comes a tipping point and they surely have now reached it.
Back the Eagles to at least keep this within a couple of goals.
Same Game Multi
The under looks a great bet in this game too with so much disruption in both line-ups. Seven of Richmond’s last eight have gone under the total.
Elliot Yeo has found form with 27+ in his last three while Jeremy McGovern is racking up the touches across half back with 24+ in his last three.
Value Bet
If West Coast bring the same intensity they did last week against Sydney then this is a very winnable game.
