AFL Tips – West Coast v Adelaide – Round 21 2022

The final game of all-time West Coast leading goal-kicker Josh Kennedy’s brilliant career adds some much needed interest to an otherwise dreadful match-up at Optus.

Best Bet

West Coast
Head-to-Head

Experience and the added motivation to send a club legend out a winner should see West Coast triumphant on Sunday afternoon.

Adelaide are the youngest and least experienced club by games played in the AFL which directly impacts their ability to remain consistent from one week to the next. The Crows have lost 10 of their last 11 games following a win so despite their terrific victory over Carlton last week, they can’t be relied upon to back up that performance here.

West Coast have humiliated themselves far less in the second half of the season, covering the start in six of their last eight games after only doing so twice in their opening eleven. Their fighting three-point loss away to Gold Coast last week was further evidence that this team haven’t thrown the towel in on 2022.

Head-to-head clearly favours the home team who have won and covered the spread in seven of their last nine against the Crows.

In a season where next to nothing has been achieved, Adam Simpson will have his Eagles primed for this one.

Taylor Walker may be on the wrong side of thirty but the former skipper is showing no signs of slowing down. He’s kicked 11 goals in his last three games.

Josh Kennedy will be given every opportunity for a bag in his final game while Jamie Cripps has kicked a goal in nine of his last ten games.

Value Bet

Josh Kennedy
5+ Goals

Kennedy has only kicked one bag of five this year but you can be sure his teammates will be very keen to see the pill in his hands as much as possible, especially if there is a margin between the teams in the final quarter. This has the hallmarks of Jarryd Roughead’s six-goal final game in 2019 where his Hawthorn teammates fed him the ball all game.
