AFL Tips – St Kilda v Geelong – Round 9 2022

Geelong have simply owned St Kilda recently and should record another victory on Saturday at Marvel.

Best Bet

Geelong -4.5 ($1.90)

This has been an absurdly one-sided rivalry over the last decade.

The Cats have won 11 of the last 13 against the Saints, with a draw on top of that. They’ve won the last six by an average of 34 points and cleared the line in 7 of the last 11.

After an excellent start to 2022, St Kilda were dealt a reality check by the unbeaten Dees last week, going down by 38 points after conceding nine of the first ten goals.

The jury remains out on Brett Ratten’s men against top quality opposition. A Round 2 win over Freo in Perth is looking more impressive by the week, but that and their loss to Melbourne are their only exposure to top six teams this year.

Their record at Marvel is also a concern, only covering in 5 of their last 14 at home against 11 of 15 away.

The Cats remain a well-drilled outfit who can add to their sensational record against the Saints this week.

Same Game Multi

Geelong -4.5 / Joel Selwood 20+ Disposals / Jeremy Cameron & Max King 2+ Goals ($5.03)

Joel Selwood has cleared 20 touches in each game this year.

Max King has kicked 2+ goals in six of eight games this year. In the other two games he kicked 1.7 and 1.3.

Value Bet

Jeremy Cameron 4+ Goals ($3.80)

The former Giant is averaging four goals a game in wins this year. Expect Dougal Howard to go to Tom Hawkins which leaves Cameron with a favourable match-up against Josh Battle or Callum Wilkie. He kicked 4.0 against the Saints in Round 22 last year.
