Best Bet
This is a hideous betting game, but the Tiges look like the stronger defensive team and are the play here.
As bad as Richmond have been in 2025, they still boast a reasonably experienced back six featuring Balta, Broad and Vlastuin. The Eagles, on the other hand, will be without their lynchpin Jeremy McGovern, while a terribly out-of-sorts Oscar Allen has been shifted to full back.
West Coast’s record without McGovern is grim. They have lost 19 straight on the road without him. They’ve also failed to cover the line in nine of their last ten away games in his absence, and in four of their last five overall.
Home teams are the safer play in games between bottom-four sides, covering in 60% of matches over the past five years.
Richmond haven’t won a game by 40 or more points in any of their last 12 victories, so a blowout looks unlikely. But they have clearly been the better of these two awful teams this year and should chalk up a win on Sunday.
Same Game Multi
As below, very keen on Tom Lynch doing some damage here.
Jacob Hopper doesn’t get any opposition attention with the lack of damage from his disposal. He’s had 25+ in five of his last six.
Ryan Maric is West Coast’s preferred kick-in taker, especially with McGovern out. He’s had 20+ in seven straight.
Value Bet
Tom Lynch has feasted on the Eagles lately, booting 18 goals in his last five against them, including a haul of 7.5 last year. He also enjoys beating up bad teams, kicking 5+ in three of his last seven against teams ranked on the bottom of the ladder.
