Best Bet
This is a strange thing to say, but North Melbourne look a good bet here.
The Roos have finally tightened up defensively, giving up just 77 points per game over the past three weeks after conceding 116 across the first six. That stretch includes three close games, highlighted by last week’s draw with Brisbane. Expected scores had them winning that one by five goals.
Their investment in midfielders with high draft picks is starting to show results too. North now rank top five for clearances and scores from stoppages. Richmond sit 17th in both.
The Tigers only just scraped past the winless Eagles at home last week, despite losing scores from stoppage 49 to 11. If that repeats, the Roos will make them pay.
Both sides have struggled for a while so the form lines aren’t pretty, but North have covered in 11 of their last 15 against Richmond.
Hold your breath and back the Roos to win this well.
Same Game Multi
Caleb Daniel missed 20 touches for the first time this year last week but expect him to bounce back here. Luke Parker has had 20 touches in each game for North.
Cam Zurhaar has kicked two goals in three straight games, and bags of six and four in his last three games against Richmond.
Value Bet
The big Souv hasn’t been at his best over the last month but this is a great opportunity to regain some form. He’s kicked bags of five and six in his last two against the Tiges.
