The traditional Anzac Day eve match at the MCG sees an exciting Melbourne side take on a winless Richmond outfit that looks destined for the wooden spoon.

Best Bet
Melbourne should win this by plenty.
Richmond are clearly the worst team in the competition and their injury toll continues to mount. Tim Taranto, Sam Banks and Maurice Rioli join Toby Nankervis on the sidelines, though Tom Lynch and Jacob Hopper should return. Early pick Sam Cumming could also debut. Regardless, this is an awful team. They lost to North Melbourne by 75 points last week and each of their last five defeats has been by more than this line.
Melbourne are the fourth highest scoring team in the competition at 102 points per game under Steven King. Their defence gives up 105 per game which is fourth worst, but that is far less of a concern against a Richmond side averaging just 58 points – 12 fewer than any other team.
The Dees have covered in five straight at the MCG. Back them to win easily.
Same Game Multi
Richmond are particularly struggling to contain key forwards. Back the veteran Brody Mihocek and Jacob van Rooyen to each kick a couple against a backline that has conceded bags to key forwards all season.
Max Gawn will feast on Samson Ryan in the ruck and has had 20 or more disposals in ten straight games.
Value Bet
Harvey Langford is being deployed as a hard-running wingman in the mould of Ollie Dempsey at Steven King’s former club Geelong, a role that has translated into genuine scoreboard impact. His returns of 3, 1, 2 and 2 goals over the last month speak for themselves. Richmond won’t have many who can run with him all night and he could hit the scoreboard hard again here.
