St Kilda look a shadow of the defensively stout, hard-running, well-drilled team that stunned the competition with a top eight finish last year. Now sitting 2-4 and coming off one of the worst performances by any team this year against the Dogs, they look to be trending toward the bottom group of teams in 2024.
That’s not the position to be in ahead of a meeting with the AFL’s biggest downhill skiers in Port Adelaide. Ken Hinkley’s men love beating up bad teams, covering in 27 of their last 40 (68%) against the bottom ten. For context, they’ve covered in just 41% against the top eight over the same period.
With Max King set to miss and Charlie Dixon back for the home side, expect the Power to win this comfortably.

The Saints continue to give up crazy numbers to opposition half-backs with Bailey Dale (39), Jason Johannisen (31), Lachie Whitfield (34) and Nic Martin (44) all going large in recent weeks. Back Dan Houston and Ryan Burton to rack them up. Edit: Burton dropped. Kane Farrell has taken the most kick-ins for Port this year and should pick up the slack.
