Hawthorn were underdogs of four goals or more six times last season, covering on five of those occasions and remarkably, winning three of them and drawing one more.
Those scalps included wins against Brisbane and the Bulldogs, as well as a draw with Melbourne.
Port appear to have lost nothing in 2022 given their terrific first up effort against the Lions, but with some injuries to key personnel – particularly in the backline – it may give opportunities to the likes of Mitch Lewis and Jack Gunston to hit the scoreboard.
Ben McEvoy and Luke Breust return for the Hawks and it would not surprise to see them push Port all the way.
