Gold Coast -24.5
Line

Port have shown next to no fight in the last few weeks, so a sudden lift for Ken Hinkley and Travis Boak’s farewell would be a surprise.

The Power have lost five straight by an average of 56 points. The only team they’ve kept close in that stretch was Fremantle, whose stodgy style tends to keep opposition teams in games.

Hinkley’s side have been blown out more often than not this year. Of their 14 losses, nine have been by more than the 24.5-point line in this match. That’s contributed to Port holding the AFL’s fifth-worst percentage at just 79 — only marginally ahead of North and Essendon.

The Suns have been dominated by Port historically, covering the line in only five of 15 meetings, but they’ve been far more competitive recently, winning last year’s clash and covering in two of the past three.

Gold Coast have dropped just two of their last eight, against Adelaide and the Giants, two teams they’ve traditionally struggled against. Otherwise, the numbers point their way here, covering in six of nine interstate matches and six of eight against bottom-nine teams.

Back the visitors to send Hinkley and Boak out on a sour note.

Same Game Multi

Suns -24.5, N.Anderson 30+ Disposals, M.Rowell 25+ Disposals, B.Long 2+ Goals

Drew hasn’t been tagging and is even less likely to in Ken’s last game so Anderson and Rowell should run wild. The skipper has had 30+ in seven of nine when his side as favoured while Rowell has had 25+ in six straight.

Ben Long has kicked 11 goals in his last four games.

Value Bet

Gold Coast 60+
Margin

Three of Port’s last four games have been decided by 50+ points and they remain without a host of best 18 players including Horne-Francis, Aliir, Lukosius, Burton, Bergman, Wines, Powell-Pepper and Burgoyne. Another belting looks likely.
