Best Bet
Geelong absolutely love playing Port Adelaide and the recent history is hard to ignore.
The Cats have won their last three meetings against the Power by 88, 76 and 84 points, two of those were at Adelaide Oval. Port showed more spirit against Hawthorn last week but remain a much weaker team than the last few years. They have been gifted an easy draw too, having faced last year’s bottom four plus St Kilda and Hawthorn. This is their biggest test yet and they arrive with serious question marks.
Geelong have flexed their muscles over the last fortnight, smashing West Coast by 46 and the Dogs by 75. Their draw has been far tougher, having faced the second, third, fourth, seventh and tenth-placed teams plus West Coast. Their form has been underestimated and look ready to pile on some pain against lesser teams in the coming weeks.
The Cats have also covered in five straight at Adelaide Oval. This could get ugly.
Same Game Multi
Shannon Neale is averaging 2.2 goals per game this season and Port are thin for key defenders beyond Aliir Aliir.
Bailey Smith continues to stuff the stat sheet, averaging 34.2 disposals in his last five games and recording 30 in each of his last two against Port.
Max Holmes has had 25 or more disposals in eight straight games.
Value Bet
The Cats have won their last three against Port by more than this margin and the Power are yet to face many quality teams aside from Hawthorn. Another big margin looks well on the cards.
