Matty Nicks’ team have been a good bet in recent Showdowns, covering the line in five of the last seven. They’ve also been money at Adelaide Oval this year, covering the line in four of five – with the one miss just three points off the line.
Port continue to be an awful bet against good opposition, only covering the line in 13 of their last 36 against top six teams.
They are particularly struggling around the pill this year, sitting bottom two for clearance and contested possession differential. The Crows, meanwhile, are top six for both stats.
Port will be without Willie Rioli this week, who is one of five changes for Ken Hinkley’s team. Adelaide replace Brodie Smith with Mitch Hinge.
Port are a far cry from the finals contender of the past few seasons and it’s hard to see them getting close to their bitter rival on Saturday.
