Western Bulldogs -40.5
Line

North couldn’t have drawn a tougher opponent in worse circumstances for their centenary celebration.

The Bulldogs have been ruthless against bottom ten teams, covering the line in their last seven and winning by an average of 69 points. Their most recent wins over bottom six sides include a 79-point thumping of Richmond, a 91-point demolition of Essendon and a 71-point rout of St Kilda.

After a promising stretch, North were dreadful against Hawthorn in Launceston, losing by 85 points. They were completely outmuscled at the contest and now face a five-day turnaround with several key players under injury clouds. George Wardlaw and Jack Darling are already ruled out, while Luke Parker, Luke McDonald and Finn O’Sullivan are all in doubt.

Charlie Comben and Jackson Archer could return, which would help stem the bleeding after last week’s defensive collapse. North’s key backs conceded seven goals to Jack Gunston, five to Mabior Chol and three to Max Ramsden. Sam Darcy and Aaron Naughton will be licking their lips.

The Bulldogs have won their last eight games against North Melbourne. They’ve only covered in four of those but have handed out some huge hidings, with three of the last seven wins coming by more than ten goals.

Expect North to bring some early fire on their big night, but they look badly outgunned off a short break. The Dogs should win big.

Same Game Multi

Western Bulldogs -39.5, C.McKercher 25+ Disposals, A.Naughton 2+ Goals, R.West Anytime Goal

Aaron Naughton has kicked 2+ in five straight against North, while Rhyee West has kicked a goal in 13 of his last 14.

Colby McKercher will have plenty of mopping up to do in defence. He should bring up another 25+ touch game.

Value Bet

Western Bulldogs -69.5
Alt Handicap

This could spiral out of control very quickly for the Kangaroos given the Dogs’ recent record against bottom four teams.
