The Dockers appear to have turned a corner and should be far too strong for the Roos.
Freo were excellent against the Suns last week, handing the expansion side a rare home loss. That was the Dockers’ third straight win and third straight line cover.
They get a real bonus here in an ‘away’ game at Optus against North, a team they have dominated in recent meetings. Freo have covered in five of their last six and won those games by an average of 47 points.
The Roos have shown improvement in recent weeks, but it has come during a softer stretch with only two of their last seven games against top nine teams.
The numbers are ugly for North. They have failed to cover in eight of nine on a six-day turnaround, in 18 of 27 interstate games and in 10 of 13 interstate games following a win. They have beaten just one top eight team in their last 57 attempts.
The loss of Charlie Comben is massive for the Roos against a Freo forward line featuring Treacy, Amiss and Voss.
Expect the ‘away’ side to win comfortably.
Same Game Multi
As below, McKercher is a great bet to rack up plenty of disposals while Caleb Serong has had 30+ in three of his last four against the Roos.
Tom Powell is averaging over 25 touches per game over his last five.
Value Bet
McKercher returned to half back last week and pigged out with 35 touches. The former number two pick had 30+ in six of his last ten games in 2024 playing the same role. He’s a great bet for 30+ and 35+.
