This has points written all over it.
North games against strong opposition have consistently skewed over the total, as the Roos keep conceding cricket scores to their opposition. Eight of their last twelve games against top-eight teams have gone over, averaging 191 points per game.
Already allowing 116 points per game to top-nine sides in 2025, this could get ugly for the Kangas. Adelaide have been ruthless against poor opposition, averaging 122 points per game from seven meetings with bottom-six teams. Five of those seven have gone over.
Marvel Stadium has also been a high-scoring venue for both teams. Six of North’s nine games there this year have gone over, as have seven of Adelaide’s last eight.
Coming off a 135-point performance against Richmond, Alastair Clarkson’s side should be confident they can hit the scoreboard. Combine that with their inability to contain quality opposition and this one shapes to sail over the total.
Same Game Multi
Taylor Walker will get the worst of North’s average key defender group. He’s kicked 2+ in seven straight games.
Harry Sheezel has had 30+ in three straight in three plus, and 54 of course last week.
Colby McKercher will again have plenty of work to do in defence. He’s had 27+ in touches in five straight at home.
Value Bet
With most of the defensive focus on containing Riley Thilthorpe, Tex could cash in against a team he loves playing. The veteran averages 3.6 goals per game from his last five against North, including 4.2 last time they met back in Round 3.
