Melbourne are a train wreck at the moment and the numbers point to a comfortable Freo win here.

The Dockers have covered the spread in eight straight games as favourites against Melbourne. These teams met twice last season, with Freo winning both games by 50 and 92 points respectively.

Melbourne’s long-standing issue hitting the scoreboard has only been worsened by a drop-off in midfield dominance this year. Through five games they are the second-lowest scoring team, averaging just 62 points per game, and they rank second-last for clearances.

Fremantle have significantly improved their offensive output in 2025, currently ranked fourth for points scored at 97 per game. They should post a big total again this week and comfortably cover this line.
