Best Bet
Hawthorn at Launceston is an automatic bet and the record demands respect.
The Hawks have won ten straight at the venue and covered the line in 12 consecutive games there. That alone is enough to back them, but the match-up only strengthens the case.
The 5-1 Hawks seem to have addressed what was perceived as a midfield weakness, currently sitting second in the competition for contested possession differential. Gold Coast are going the other way, ranked 12th in that stat and dead last for centre clearance differential. The Suns are out of sorts around the ball.
Gold Coast may regain Noah Anderson and Jamarra Ugle-Hagan will make his club debut, but the Suns have never won from seven attempts on the Apple Isle and have covered in just two. There are questions all over the park for them as Damien Hardwick attempts to find his best combination.
Back the more settled side to continue their Launceston dominance.
Same Game Multi
Jack Gunston has kicked three or more goals in eight straight matches and shows no signs of slowing down. Ethan Read has been a handful on the wing, kicking nine goals in the last four weeks.
Bodhi Uwland takes the majority of Gold Coast’s kick-ins and has had 20 or more disposals in five straight games.
Value Bet
There is not a lot of standout value on offer here but Nick Watson has kicked three or more goals in three of his last five games and three in his only previous match against Gold Coast. He is in dangerous form and looks the best available price in a game that the Hawks should be winning.
