Hawthorn have found form and look capable of pushing the Lions on Sunday at Marvel Stadium.
Best Bet
It’s one of the great oddities given their relative positions on the ladder that Hawthorn have beaten Brisbane the last four times they have met.
Two of those wins have been at Launceston, with the other two at the MCG, but going across to Marvel Stadium should hold no fears for the Hawks, who have covered the line in all three games at the venue this season.
They should be riding a three game winning streak into this, with only their lapse allowing two goals to Port in the last 40 seconds costing them victory last week. In light of subsequent results, their win over the Dogs in Round 8 looks really impressive now.
Brisbane come off a thumping win over the Tigers but their road form this season is a real worry. The Lions have only managed to win two from five away from the Gabba this season with one of those being a Gather Round win over North.
Getting a nice head start – and getting back some good personnel in James Sicily, Jack Scrimshaw and Jack Gunston, the Hawks are an excellent bet.
