Best Bet
Richmond have been lauded for a more competitive season than many predicted, but their record against the AFL’s best remains poor.
The Tigers have covered the line in just two of their last seven games against top-eight sides, losing by an average of 64 points. Three of their last four matchups against those teams have ended in 60+ point defeats.
Aside from a horror night against Adelaide, the Suns’ recent form has been excellent. They’ve beaten both the Pies and Lions in their last three games — the latter by 66 points last week.
Damien Hardwick’s side is likely to be boosted by the return of Touk Miller, while Richmond are expected to be without Tim Taranto again.
Late in the season is typically when good teams boost their percentage against the battlers. Since 2010, top-eight teams playing bottom-four opponents from Round 20 onwards have covered the line 66% of the time.
Expect the Suns to pile on the pain this Saturday.
Same Game Multi
The Tiges don’t tag so Rowell should be in for another monster game. He’s had 30+ in each of his last three.
Bailey Humphrey kicked three last week and has kicked 2+ in three straight when the Suns are favourites.
Dion Prestia has had 20+ in 14 of his last 15.
Value Bet
Joey Jeffrey is shouldering more of the rebounding load with Daniel Rioli out injured. He’s had 30+ in two of his last four games.
