AFL Tips – Gold Coast Suns v Adelaide – Round 14 2022

The Suns will take another step toward an unlikely finals berth this Sunday at home.

Best Bet

Gold Coast -28.5
Line

Gold Coast have been Adelaide’s whipping boys since their inception, losing 14 of 15 games, but the wheel is turning for Stuart Dew’s men.

The Suns have won four of their last five games and covered in each of those victories. This has included wins over top eight teams in Fremantle and Sydney, and beltings of Hawthorn and North by 67 and 62 points respectively in their last two games.

They get a golden opportunity for a hat trick of hammerings this week against the Crows.

After a promising start to the year, reality has hit the league’s youngest and most inexperienced list.

Adelaide have lost five of their last six games and only covered the line in once in that period. A 31-point win for West Coast last time out is hardly cause for celebration given the Eagles had lost their seven previous games prior by 50+ points. In Adelaide’s five prior games, they lost four by more than 36 points.

The Crows are every bit a bottom four team and will cop another pasting from the rising Suns this weekend.

Same Game Multi

Gold Coast -29.5, R.Laird 30+ Disposals, M.Crouch 25+ Disposals, D.Fogarty Anytime Goal

I know backing three Crows players plus a big Suns win looks odd but Adelaide have a few very consistent performers that are great same game multi bets while the Suns spread the load more each week.

Rory Laird has racked up 30 touches in eight of his ten matches this year while Matt Crouch has had 25+ disposals in eight of his nine games – he had 24 in the other.

Darcy Fogarty has kicked three snags in each of his last two games.

Value Bet

Gold Coast -59.5
Alternative Handicap

The Suns are a live finals hope considering their great run home but they will need to pick up some percentage. This Crows team is ripe for a belting and Gold Coast have shown in their last two outings that they’re capable of delivering one.
