It’s hard to have much faith in Freo at present, especially as favourites, having lost four of their last five in that position.
Justin Longmuir’s team still look very clunky offensively, only scoring 69 and 65 points in their first two games, before scraping past 100 against the battling Eagles last week.
The Dogs’ strong defensive duo in Liam Jones and Rory Lobb should be able to restrict the Dockers’ main offensive threats – key forwards Josh Treacy and Jye Amiss – which could contain the home side to another low total.
The Bulldogs have defied a big injury list to sit 2-1 after three games, largely thanks to players like Joel Freijah, Sam Davidson and Matt Kennedy filing the void left by their missing stars.
They have also covered the line in their last four as underdogs and should be able to keep this tight.
Same Game Multi
Libba is relishing the captaincy in the Bont’s absence. He’s had 28+ in each of his three games this year.
Bailey Dale was a touch quiet last week but he’s had 30 in each of his last two against Freo.
Jaeger O’Meara wound back the clock in his first two games this year, racking up 30+ in each.
Value Bet
Not a whole lot of value on offer in this game but Matt Kennedy kicked two last week and was always a handy goal-kicker at Carlton. He’s also kicked a snag in three straight at Optus.
