Essendon are dealing with an almost unprecedented injury crisis, and it’s going to result in some brutal losses to close out the 2025 season.

The Bombers have lost six straight, with three of the last four by more than six goals. Last week, they played in arguably the worst game of this decade, scraping together just 37 points in a nine-point loss to Richmond.

The Giants, meanwhile, are starting to build momentum. They’ve won four straight, three of those against quality opposition in Geelong, Gold Coast and Brisbane. The other was a 59-point demolition of last-placed West Coast.

GWS have scored 100 or more in four straight games and coved the line in five of their last six against bottom six teams.

Adam Kingsley has flagged that Jesse Hogan and Josh Kelly will be rested, but that’s unlikely to matter. The Giants will win this one by as much as they feel like.
