Geelong host a resurgent Carlton side that is two from two under interim coach Josh Fraser, but this is a significant step up in class.
Best Bet
Carlton have been more competitive recently but this is a giant step up in class.
The Cats have been on a tear, winning and covering in four straight. Their smallest winning margin over the last month was 27 points against Sydney. This is not a team that gets dragged into slogs, with their last seven games averaging 190 points and the Cats scoring 114 per game through that stretch.
Carlton’s recent improvement is real but their last three games were a loss to a struggling Brisbane and two wins over Port Adelaide and the Dogs in low-quality, ugly contests. They will be tested in ways those games simply did not prepare them for.
With Jacob Weitering under an injury cloud, expect the Cats’ forward line to continue their rampage and run out comfortable winners.
Same Game Multi
Bailey Smith has had 30 or more disposals in nine of his last ten games.
Shannon Neale has kicked two or more goals in six of eight games and the Cats’ key forwards could feast if Weitering does not get up.
Shaun Mannagh has kicked 13 goals in his last four games and is in the form of his career.
Value Bet
Mannagh had a quieter game last week with one against Sydney but his three prior games went 5, 3 and 4. Getting $5.00 for a bet that has hit in three of his last four games has to be played.
