After disappointing seasons in 2024, both the Saints and Crows will be looking to get off to a winning start in Adelaide on Sunday.

Adelaide looks set for a vastly better year in 2025, and it should begin with a big win over the Saints.
The Crows were one of the most impressive sides through the pre-season, their list looking much stronger with the inclusions of Alex Neal-Bullen, Isaac Cumming, and James Peatling. Both Izak Rankine and Riley Thilthorpe look set for big years too.
Matthew Nicks’ side has a fantastic record against the Saints, winning 13 of the last 15 head-to-head matchups and covering the line in 12 of their last 15, with an average winning margin of 42 points. Their last two meetings, both at Adelaide Oval, resulted in 32 and 52-point wins for the home side.
The Saints looked awful in their pre-season hit-out against Port Adelaide, losing by 44 points. They’ll be missing a host of best-22 players, including Max King, Mattaes Phillipou, Mitch Owens, Dan Butler, Dougal Howard and Cooper Sharman.
Ross Lyon will be praying to the rain gods that the forecasted morning showers stick around into the afternoon, because that may be the only thing that saves the Saints from a belting here.

As mentioned above, Thithorpe looks set for a big year and with the Saints missing Dougal Howard, they don’t have anyone who can match the former number two pick for strength.
The Fog has kicked 2+ in eight of his last 10 at Adelaide Oval.
