The Cats look a good bet here despite last week’s stumble.

Geelong got caught out last week by a team they have struggled against recently in Carlton, who have now won four of their last five against the perennial contenders. Adelaide are a very different proposition. The Cats have won their last seven against the Crows including both games at Adelaide Oval, and have won and covered the line in five of six visits there overall. Their record against the competition’s better sides is also excellent, covering in each of their last six games against top-eight teams.

Adelaide have won five of their last seven but none against any quality. The highest-ranked team they have beaten in 2026 is St Kilda in eleventh. They will also be missing arguably two of their three best players in Izak Rankine and Riley Thilthorpe, leaving their forward line severely depleted.

The Cats are close to full strength with both Jack Martin and Lawson Humphreys a chance to play. Take Geelong to win comfortably.
