Goal Scorer Tips
Cameron has been a nightmare for the Pies in recent years, booting 17 goals in his last four games against them including 10 in two meetings this year. His finals record is also terrific, scoring 23 majors in his last nine September matches. While he’s only kicked three in this year’s two finals, he could have had a bag in the Prelim Final after an uncharacteristically inaccurate 1.3 against Carlton. A must in same game multis with 2+ goals in six of his last seven matches.
Joe Daniher also has a tremendous record against Collingwood, scoring three or more goals in five of his last six matches against them. He hits his first Grand Final in great form, kicking 12 goals in his last four games. His problematic inaccuracy is also not afflicting him at present, having kicked 13.7 in his last six games.
Love McCarthy as a same game multi booster. The high-marking small forward has booted a goal in nine straight games and makes the most of his opportunities in front of the sticks, having scored 26.10 for the season.
As we discuss in our Grand Final preview, the Pies are really struggling to score so it’s tough to recommend many of their players to convert. Former Giant Bobby Hill has kicked a snag in ten straight games at the MCG and kicked three in a low-scoring qualifying final against Melbourne. One to include if you favour the Pies, especially with Elliott and Mihocek out of sorts.
There’s value in the big American hitting the scoreboard as his time forward increases when Dan McStay is out. Cox scored 11.10 in eight games without McStay playing in 2023 and just 6.0 in the nine games with him in the side. His ability to perform on the big stage is also well-known, as Richmond fans can attest.
Disposals Tips
Crispy is the next soldier up in Taylor Adams’ absence. His centre bounce attendances spiked to 65% last week, just the second time he’d been in the middle more than 60% in 2023. While that didn’t lead to a big disposal game, he has cleared 20 touches in nine of his last ten games.
Another same game multi booster here with young Wilmot becoming a consistent disposal winner across half-back in 2023. He’s had 15+ in 14 straight and 20+ in two of his last three.
A unique angle here for the Irishman who clearly sets himself for Collingwood matches given his two career-high disposal tallies have both come against them – 35 in Round 23, 2019 and 26 in Round 23 this year. He’s now had 20+ in three of his last four against the Pies.
